Dr. Tara Vattadi joined our team in 2022, and she has since enjoyed working with truly supportive team members. Having similar goals and beliefs while striving to provide excellent care for every patient makes coming into the office each day extremely rewarding! She would love to get to know you, your dental needs, and your smile goals so she can provide the high-quality, personalized care you deserve as well. Until then, keep reading to learn about her journey to becoming one of our talented Los Gatos, CA dentists!

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Vattadi’s first experience with how important a smile is to a person’s self-confidence was when she was really young. Her little brother (who was in 2nd grade at the time) broke his lower front tooth and was quite distraught that it would have to be pulled or that he would have a gap for the rest of his life. Fortunately, their childhood dentist found a solution to save his tooth – it’s still in place some 20+ years later! In short, seeing the positive impact a dentist could have on a person’s life made her want to do the same.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Although Dr. Vattadi is originally from Santa Cruz, she chose to complete a 7-year combined bachelors/DDS program at the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan. After earning her doctorate, she underwent a one-year General Practice Residency at the Loyola Hospital in Chicago. During this time, she received advanced training in everything from restorative dentistry and prosthodontics to oral surgery for treating medically compromised patients. To this day, she expands her knowledge and hones her skill through continuing education. Plus, she is an active member of both the American Dental Association and the California State Dental Association!

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

When she isn’t practicing or talking about dentistry, Dr. Vattadi enjoys cooking, reading, doing anything fitness-related, and sewing. In fact, she taught herself to sew during lockdown! Of course, she also loves spending as much time as she can with her friends and family, and she has a passion for traveling and trying new restaurants. So, if you have a recommendation, don’t hesitate to share!
